It Sounds Like The Future is Female..

With the rise in female leadership and the gravitas of the female voice, the impact of empowered women empowering women is causing game changing results in all manner of industries.

Podcasting is becoming the new radio, and although according to the 2019 Podcast Insights research women account for 44% of podcast listeners, we predict that with the increase in diversity across genders, this percentage will surpass male listeners by this time in 2020.

A female voice that has led the way for many others by way of women of colour, and millennials is Imriel Morgan. Former Co-Founder of the Melanin Millennials podcast (which was one of the first podcasts we listened to), and CEO of the ShoutOut Network, and now host of Wanna Be podcast, Morgan has an extensive journalistic background with an impressive roster of interviewees under her belt including Luvvie Adaji, Amma Asante and Ava DuVernay to name a few.

This Saturday 18th May 2019, the ShoutOut Network will be hosting their 3rd ShoutOut Live festival with the theme – Content is Queen Podcast Festival. Hosting some of the UK’s finest female voices, this festival will create a safe space to celebrating podcasting and its power to highlight intersectional experiences of all women in the UK’s broadcasting industry, while developing the next generation of podcaster.

The festival features insightful talks, panel discussions and podcast accelerator workshops with award-winning producers Triple Cripples (Kym and Jay), Maeve McClenaghan, Kat Molesworth, Gabriella Watts and Sarah Golding to name a few.

Catch us down there this weekend and for more info and tickets, head over to the ShoutOut Network and Eventbrite
