Black Young Professionals Network - The App Launch

Black Young Professionals Network - The App Launch

The Black Young Professionals Network has been the go-to place for black young professionals to network, socialise and date. Founded by, business development executive by day and budding entrepreneur by night, Kike Oniwinde, she passionately believes in the power of community and developing links and lasting connections with like-minded individuals.

Academically, Kike had the opportunity to fulfill part of her studies in America where the visibility of the black experience, in all its dimensions, is more prevalent. Kike was stunned by how many groups, societies and affiliations united people of colour, and this experience caused her to question how these collectives are formed, and better still, how one can be collated in the UK; this realisation caused the birth of Black Young Professionals Network.

This journey began with online content and a series of networking events, however more recently the BYP Network launched their first app to encourage social engagement, prospective business collaborations and romantic relations all with the touch of a button.

Held on Saturday 16th September 2017 at Smiths of Smithfield, this city venue was a congruent and stylish choice for such an occasion. The BYP Network app launch sustained a vibrant energy from beginning to end, and was a great place for the BYP Network ethos to materialise in real time. In and amongst the buzzing conversations and classic R’n’B hits in the background, the BYP Network App launch included live music performances and motivational speakers who shared their views on the personal development, dating and creating new friendships.

The promo video for the app was also showcased on the night, which highlighted the many benefits of the app; dating, networking, and socialising across black millennials has just got easier!

After the formalities, the music turned up and furnishings were pushed aside. Although cupcakes and cocktails were still in full swing, the conversations ceased and the turn up began! Congratulations BYP Network!
